ODU

An outdoor unit (ODU) is a piece of equipment designed to be installed in the open air. This typically means the item has been tested in specific ways to prove resistance to water and dust ingression, such that it will survive open air conditions for many years. Often the ODU comes in association with an IDU (indoor unit) where the IDU has the more sophisticated electronics and the network connection. ODUs and IDUs are most often terms used with licensed microwave solutions.
