Wireless Wi-Fi technology

Wi-Fi connectivity is generally a term used to describe connecting to the internet. At Cogent Distribution, we refer to “Wi-Fi connectivity” more so when connecting sites, multiple buildings, or remote sites or locations using wireless technology.

Wi-Fi connectivity

So for us, Wi-Fi connectivity in fact means wireless connectivityWireless connectivity is a method of network connectivity fo... More, and that’s the term we use when installing a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint wireless link, or providing wireless cellular connectivity to deliver Wi-Fi device connectivity to an end-user. In this way, Wi-Fi can mean connecting end-users to the internet but also Wi-Fi may mean connecting locations, buildings, premises, vehicles, and other devices to the internet.

Wi-Fi connectivity is split into two areas really, there’s public access Wi-Fi, which is for open areas or when you’re in transit on public transportation, such as trains, but there’s also private Wi-Fi where you’ve got your facility, such as offices, and that has wireless signal (Wi-Fi) spread around the building so that your phone and your laptop can connect to the network wherever you want to work within the building or just outside it. These two types of Wi-Fi connectivity are different, but they do the same thing, i.e. they allow a device to connect to a network without a physical cable.

For example, many Peplink products (e.g. the BR1, HD4, AP One Series and others) have an access point built into them. A supplier or integratorAn integrator (or system(s) integrator) working in the field... More may choose to put a specialist Wi-Fi network around those routers because the point about having a mobile data router is that it has a cellular connection to allow devices, which are not physically cabled, into the router unit to be able to access the internet or a corporate network. Most of the products from Peplink and Teltonika Networks have got access points built into them, which allow Wi-Fi network connection, as well as mobile data routing.
